ABOUT ME

Jared Jacobs is a local lighting designer specializing in musical theater, plays, and custom lighting projects. His recent work includes Xanadu (Coronado Playhouse), TEDx Talks: The Murder Room (Compulsion Dance & Theater), Hands on a Hardbody (Coronado Playhouse), and A Twisted Bargain (Compulsion Dance & Theater), multiple of which were nominated for Broadway World San Diego and Aubrey Awards. Jared's passion for lighting design began during High School while growing up in Maine, and his career took a significant turn when he joined the Marines and was stationed in San Diego. Since 2017 he has contributed his expertise to numerous local community theaters and venues in San Diego. During the day he works as an IT Consultant, and more recently he began working as a lighting designer for Music Box in Little Italy. When he's not working, you can find him rollerblading, surfing, or riding the trolley.
